I believe in

Education

Strong schools, strong community—supporting teachers, students, and lifelong learning.

What I believe

Strong schools attract families in their peak earning years
  • A strong community depends on strong public schools. Our district is fortunate to have excellent schools, and we must protect that quality while pushing for continual improvement.

  • Every child—no matter their ZIP code—deserves a safe classroom, great teachers, and the opportunity to learn and thrive.

  • Learning shouldn’t stop at graduation. Affordable, practical pathways for adults to gain new skills keep families earning and local businesses growing.

Why this matters

  • Great schools attract families, strengthen neighborhoods, and prepare the next generation for good local jobs.

  • When teachers are supported and classrooms are well‑resourced, students succeed—and discipline issues, absenteeism, and dropout rates fall.

  • Lifelong learning helps veterans, displaced workers, and parents reenter or advance in the workforce.

What I’ll do

  • Back our teachers

    • Support competitive pay and benefits to recruit and retain excellent educators, bus drivers, and support staff.

    • Reduce red tape and unfunded mandates so teachers can focus on teaching.

    • Expand classroom safety and mental‑health supports to keep learning environments calm and productive.

  • Invest in classrooms

    • Protect stable, transparent school funding tied to student needs, not politics.

    • Modernize facilities, technology, and career‑technical labs so students learn on the tools they’ll use at work.

    • Ensure early literacy support, tutoring, and summer learning to keep every student on grade level.

  • Opportunity for every child

    • Strengthen special education services and school‑to‑work transitions for students with disabilities.

    • Expand high‑quality preschool and after‑school programs, especially in areas with limited options.

    • Grow dual‑credit, AP, and career pathways so students can earn college credit or industry credentials before graduation.

  • Lifelong learning for adults

    • Partner with community colleges, unions, and employers on short, affordable credential programs in high‑demand fields.

    • Support apprenticeships and earn‑while‑you‑learn models that fit working families’ schedules.

    • Offer adult basic education, ESL, and digital skills so everyone can participate in today’s economy.

My commitment to you

  • I will listen to parents, educators, and students—and measure every proposal by whether it improves learning, supports teachers, and prepares people in Meade County and Radcliff for success at every stage of life.
